Obelisk of Theodosius Obelisk, or only, on the south side of Sultanahmet Square is an ancient Egyptian obelisk beside the Serpentine Column. 390 years after Christ, the Roman Emperor Theodosius erected instead brought from Egypt by now. Obelisk first Egyptian pharaoh III. BC built by Tutmosis 15th century and was erected to the south of the seventh pylon of the Karnak temple.
