onsen hot spring resort

Japan being a country of volcanos, there are natural hot springs (onsen) across the country. The Hida region of Gifu prefecture has the onsen resort towns of Gero Onsen, and Oku-hida Onsen-kyo up in the mountains. Pictured is an outdoor bath, called rotemburo.
