Nasi Uduk (Dutch:Jaloerse Rijst) is made from steamed white rice with coconut milk, and seasoned with nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, lemongrass and pepper. This food was originated by the inhabitants of the island of Java around 1910 and was popularized by the Dutch East Indies afterwards. Nasi Uduk is usually served with fried chips, fried tofu, sliced omelette, and dried shredded tempe, fried onion, fried chicken, cucumber, peanut sauce and chili.
