Orihime & Hikoboshi/Weaver Maiden & Oxherd

The celestial being Orihime/Weaver Princess wove beautiful cloth of clouds for the heavens. She fell in love with and married Hikoboshi/the oxherd of the heavens. So in love, they neglected their work, so her father the Heavenly Emperor (the Universe) separated them to opposite ends of the Amanogawa (River of Heavens=Milky Way) and allowed them to meet but once a year - on July 7 - on a bridge of magpie feathers spanning the River of Heavens. If it rains, they can't meet, and must wait a year.
