Harvest Moon viewing

The mid September Hunter's Moon is large and clear. Heian aristocrats (approximately 1200 years ago) appreciated the moon by writing poem verses about it, and preferred viewing its reflection in a lake (such as at the temple Daikakuji) or in a sake saucer.
