The Race Track
The famous sailing rocks on the Race Track in Death Valley. One of nature's unsolved mysteries. Nobody knows exactly how the rocks are moving along the dirt, leaving a path behind them. Not many people go there, as it requires a 40 mile trip over a bumpy dirt road. It is remote, but beautiful. I found this particular rock not far from the road, and marked it as one that I could come back to later, for the sunset. When the sunset finally came, it was spectacular. The soft orange and yellow glow was bouncing off the canyon walls. It was one of the most lovely sunsets I have ever seen. A true gift from nature!
