Keraton Kesunanan Surakarta is the palace of the Surakarta Sunanate located in Solo, Central Java. This palace was built in 1744. Although the Surakarta Sunanate has officially been part of the Indonesia since 1945, the complex of the palace building still functions as the residence of Sri Sunan and his palace household which still carry out royal traditions to this day.
