The Farnese Hercules is an ancient statue made in the early third century AD and signed by Glykon. Like much Ancient Roman sculpture, it is a copy of an older Greek original that was well known, in this case an original bronze by Lysippos of the 4th century BC. The enlarged copy was made for the Baths of Caracalla in Rome (3rd c.), where the statue was recovered in 1546. Naples, National Archaeological Museum
